Hey guys! You may remember me from such "help me" threads as "Oops I broke my voicemail!" =)

I'm curious if there's any way to program a Release Button on the DKT2010-SD to drop the line but so that the handset can stay off the hook.

I use a headset and it's tedious to pick up the handset and replace it all the time.

Thanks,.,,.!

If you have a DK then you'll need to look at program 39 in system programming. If you have a CTX/CIX, look in the user guide which will tell you how to program a release key. You might also be interested in the BHEU/HHEU which is the headset adapter for the DKT phone.

Get an HHEU installed in the phone with the headset, as Phonemeister suggested. Thats what the card is for. Works great with the Plantronics M10 or M12 base.

Hope you can afford an HHEU, they cost about $20 or less down here, but I don't know how much that translates into COLD CASH up there. <grin>

Thanks for the suggestions...

Unfortunately my company is not too big on expenditures that would increase user productivity.

Anyone able to provide steps for the software programming method ?

P.S. This is the headset I'm using https://www.gnnetcom.com/US/EN/MainMenu/Products/Wireless+Solutions/GN+6210.htm wireless bluetooth, works with both desktop set and cell phone. Really slick.

1) Label a spare flexible button as RLS.
2) Go into station programming (#9876) and press Hold
3) Press newly labeled RLS button.
4) Enter code 270
5) Press RLS button again.

This is how we do it on our CTX switch. Hope this helps.

They buy you a full blown bluetooth headset and they don't have $20 for an HHEU? Or did you buy it for yourself and take it with you when you leave Scrooge and Sons Coal Company.

Which system do you have? It would say on the outside of the Toshiba cabinet?

DK 24, DK 56, DK 96, DK 16, DK 16e, DK 40, DK 40i, DK 424, DK 424i, CTX/CIX 100, CTX/CIX 672?

An HHEU2 is the little board for your phone if you want to stop messing with buttons.

It would be a 476 button on a DK, different animal than a CTX/CIX.

You would also need to program the phone for no off-hook preference, otherwise leaving the handset off would keep the phone busy. Press line, intercom, or whatever to start the call and release to hang up.
