I have a Partner system that is acting strangely. x10 is an 18D phone. The other 4 phones are Partner 6s. The problem I am having is on x13. It has one of the 6s. When we try to pick up line 1 or line 2, we get nothing. If we pick up line 3, there is dialtone. I have checked line assignement multiple times. I have also checked another known good phone. Any ideas?

I wonder if those 2 buttons really are for lines 1 & 2.

Try connecting an 18D to x13, then press:

FEATURE 00
SYSTEM PROGRAM (left intercom button)

Then press the button for what would be line #1 and see what shows up on the display. Then check the button for line #2.

Dexman:

Thanks for the quick reply.

Good thinking. That's why you guys are pros.

I will try that and let you know.

From the 18-D at X10.

Do a #301 for x13.
Then do a remove and put your lines back on X13.

Also may want to check and make sure that X13 doesn't have it's lines pooled.

Dexman:

I did connect an 18D phone. The lines show up like they should. When I query the button for line one, it does indeed show up as line 1. Same for line 2.

Michael, thanks for your reply. This is something I tried, namely removing and readding the lines. This didn't help.

Any other ideas?

Do the green status LEDs illuminate when you try to grab either of the 2 lines?

Dexman:

No. Neither of the LEDs will illumninate.

If I leave the handset down and press a button for one of the lines, the Speaker and HFAI LEDs will light up. But I get nothing.

I have just noticed that if I pick up the handset, line 3 is selected.

Does that mean the lines are pooled? Or is there an issue with autoselect?

Check #302.

If 18D on ext.13 works fine then it is no problems with that ext. Have you tried swap phone from ext.13 with any other one? It's might be simply a bad buttons on the phone.

Michael: Thanks for the reply. Seems to me I tried this as well. Went in and restricted the lines and then unrestricted them. I will check again though.

vad60: The 18D didn't "work". That means I could not get the lines with the 18D phone either. The only thing I was able to do with the 18D is verify that the relevant buttons were what x10 said they were. Otherwise, I have tried multiple know good phones at that extension. All with the same result.

I agree with Mike, check #302. If that doesn't do it try a reset. If that doesn't do it default the system, see if that extension now has the first four lines on it working properly then start over from scratch with new programming.

I would about put money on 302 being the problem.
If you have already checked 301.

Hal, Daniel & blklabs:

You guys were right! I thought that I had checked line restriction. However, I must not have as I would have seen right away what the issue was.

So indeed, #302 did it.

You guys are great!

Thanks again.
