Okay guys, my company lost its telephony guy and since i was low man on the totum pole i have been given the "opportunity" to be the phone guy. My telecom experience including the 2 months i've been doing it here is 2 months  Anywho, on to my situation. We use Merlin Magix systems for our phones and we have a new location opening and I am required to build a new phone system from stratch. We have tons of cards and chassis but where to start i'm lost. We will have about 5 people at this location but i'm wanting around 15 extension and probably need 4-6 outside lines. Let me know what informatin you need and i will get that for you, take pictures what ever is needed.

Hard to say without knowing what cards and chassis you have. Are they good or is there a reason they are spare? You could start by listing what you have and then perhaps some one could advise you.

Your best bet is to get someone who know Magix's to install it.

If possible, please list the modules that you have available. We can suggest which ones to use (assuming everything is in perfect working order).
The Magix does have a learning curve and giving detailed step-by-step programming instructions is beyond the scope of this (and other) tech help sites.
As hitech suggested, the best way to handle this is, indeed, to bring in a local Authorized Avaya Business Partner.
The only other option is to download the Magix's documents from Avaya's website and study them. :read:

The 515 is a Merlin Magix carrier while the 511 is a Merlin Legend carrier.
With the Legend, you could use the 408 GS/LS-MLX, 008 MLX and 800 GS/LS for a grand total of 12 POTS lines and 16 extensions.
