How can a user instruct a caller to return to the main greeting (the auto attendant menu prompt) while listening to the user's mailbox greeting? For example, the user records the following script: "this is Joe, leave me a message, or to return to the main greeting, press ______"
2nd question: In order to check messages remotely, you can press *7 at the auto attendant greeting. How do you check messages remotely if the call into the system is answered by a live person?
Thank you for your assistance.

Last question first, caller asks whoever picks up to be transfered to VM. That would be the VM button or (transfer)(777) then hang up.
First question, can't be done. They can do *8 to transfer to any other extension.
