Probably the reason it's never been changed is because "it's always been that way".

And while we're on a roll-

Another thing that annoys me is the need for a Conferance Drop button that drops the last line you added to a conferance call. Suppose you want to drop the first line? Why can't they change it so that you only have to press the line button of the call you want to keep like other systems do?

Oh YES, that's a really good one. I end up having to hang up and re-dial at the end of the conference call.

Yup, that'll do it! But why do they have to do a meet-me page, why can't they just call you at your extension?

They can Tommy, IF I'm there. I guess it's just the way we learned to use it - never thought of another way to do it (until now!). There's no instructions in the book how to use the feature, just what it does so me, being the inventive type, came up with that procedure, Anyone can page for someone to either pick up an outside line or answer the intercom page. We don't use voicemail (except after hours) as I hate voicemail - the rule at my company is - a human being WILL answer the phone during normal business hours. Customers love it.

Hi Guys. New 206 module did the trick. Anyone want the old one (dealer I got the replacement from doesn't) - hate to just toss it.. Anyone know how to get into it (I'm an EE - might try to fix it but don't want to break it open - seems to be glued shut).

Bobl------ if no lines are plugged into mod. just ext's do the lines still lock up when ext.in use?. if not you have a ox6 exp. card now. Lay card on side use 2 small flat blade srewdrivers, the card is held together with hooked plastic pins, start in corner push hook away from latch, use second driver to seperate the two card halves.Work your way around the card. Thanks Jacktel, I'll try to pry it open. I'll poke around in the card then keep it as a spare - you never know....

As for yr question, I never tried the card with the lines removed. Can't say.

Don't know if anyone thought of this, but aren't the trunk-only modules supposed to be slotted AFTER the station-trunk modules? Could this be what caused failure, doubt it. Could it cause a program snafu, maybe. We had a Partner that another sub had given up on. We re-organized the modules, clear-reset the processor and everything was fine. We did not try the clear-reset 1st because we felt that if we were gonna clear-reset, set cabinet up correctly too. John

400s and 200s get located after the 206s and 308s just to keep the extensions in sequential order. Locating them the other way around does no harm, just screws up the extension and CO numbering.

If no lines are plugged into mod just ext's do the lines still lock up when ext in use?

Its the extension port that is "stuck" off-hook. You could unassign all lines to that extension to keep it from seizing any lines. I would do this only until you can replace the mod since it will pick up an intercom path with no lines assigned, although that's usually not a problem.
