It's been a while since I've had to install a new IP phone on on a IPO, where can I find a step by step doc to get this set up? Thanks

Of course it depends whether you're installing a 9608 or J1xx phones, but the SIP guide is here: https://ipofficekb.avaya.com/busine...lephone%20Installation%20Notes_en-us.pdf

Ha! Even better Mongo :-)

I did a quick Google search for it on IPOAssist but came up short...

An H.323 phone. Pretty straightforward, not really any different than adding a digital phone. Add a new user in Manager, and if the extension you use for the user does not exist it will ask you if you want to create it.

From there, it really all depends on how the customer's network is setup. If they already have IP phones there's a good chance all you will need to do is plug it in to a powered ethernet port, wait for it to do a firmware upgrade, and then login with the extension/password you created.

If it's the first IP phone that's a whole other ball of wax.

So they only have 8 licenses, 1 IP phone got fried, I need to install a replacement. How do I get the IPO to find the new 1608? I'll use the same extension number. Do I need to delete the user 1st ?

If it's like for like then you don't need any programming at all - just point the new 1608 to the IP Address of the IP Office from it's admin menu (if your DHCP options don't already do that).

While the phone is booting up, you will see "Press * to program", step through the menus to set the Call Server and File Server

We don't typically post installer level passwords here but you can find it easily in this manual: https://ipofficekb.avaya.com/busine...stall/ip_phone_installation.pdf?rnd=2709

Thanks Toner I found it. Where do I actually assign the extension number to that set? I didn't see that as a menu option.

It’s not in the menu. When the phone finishes booting up it will ask for the extension and password.

If this phone has been used before it may try to login with its existing extension and password. You may need to do a clear all values from the admin menu.
