Shefe, I don't understand your two posts. But what I do get is you have a DSS on the system. As mentioned, this is your problem. There is no known resolution to this. Sprint had us jump through hoops for years with this problem (ground spare pairs, run a cat5E cable to the DSS, put on emf donuts, etc, etc, etc)
As mentioned your only cause of action is to reboot the phone system or unplug the phone that is attached to the DSS, as well as the DSS, then plug back in. This will give you a few months till this problem happens again.
If something has changed on the desk where the DSS is, you may want to look into that. According to Sprint, there is an EMF problem, a computer monitor to close to the phone and DSS can cause this.

If the database is corrupt in the root-level, meaning changes that should not be changed: USER NAME: Bob as ^SER ~AME: Bob
Then doing a COLD START and sending PARTS will send the corrupt database also.
If that is the case, then the remedy is to manually copy the information from the affected database to a different computer.
That is:
Download the customer database to Computer A, and then with a completely different Computer, B re-enter the information from Computer A to Computer B one screen at a time.
It's time consuming...especially if they have alot of international system speed dial numbers.

Dean, Get what you are saying and agree, but don't discount that many glitches are in something I cant remember the name of, sending part at time gets rid of that.
Also, since he has a DSS, I would bet the farm that this is the problem.
Out of 300 protege accounts we had, we had around 6 accounts that had the exact problem he is describing. May have had more, but only had 6 accounts that brought this to our attention.
While this was going on, I was able to reach out to other dealers that had the same problem.
Since I am getting old, I did not put the pieces together till I posted my first post on what to do.

I know the feeling. I remember having to Warm Start, Cold Start, Default, Rotate This, Change That.
I think it must be an East Coast thing with the DSS...at least I don't remember running into anything like that.
Side Note: I really like working with Brian, Joey and Lana at SPG. They knew the system better than most.

Brian was the best, he was my teacher when I got certified. I was really disappointed when Sprint hung their hat and said we were done. It was equally disappointing when they canned the XLTX project.

I've never seen these symptoms caused by a DSS unit. I'm thinking bad hardware or a cold start and reprogram will do the trick.
I agree with both the previous posts. I'm still sorry to see the Sprint Protege's be replaced with newer systems to this day. In it's prime we had about 3-4 hundred installed. The Sprint was the first system I learned on when I first got into the industry. Great system and very reliable. Tech. support was great too. I always spoke to Brian or Kevin.

If port 2 is extension 305 and you assign ext. 367 (port 43) to port 2. Ext. 367 will now reside where 305 was and 305 will reside where 367 was.
Old Order: Port 2 - 305 Port 43 - 367
New Order: Port 2 - 367 Port 43 - 305
