My client has a CICS 7.1 w/Call Pilot 100 ver3.1. They have never checked the General Delivery mailbox and it is full. All other mailboxes are empty. I raised the class of service to 16 and tried to clear the messages but it ask that I record my name....then it tells me that there is not enough memeory to record a name. Is there any other way to clear the messages in this box besides a complete restore?

No, I haven't been able to. When I try it ask for a new password, I change it, it ask that I record my name then says memory full and it exits?

You have an interesting dilemma that I have never encountered.

I'd uncheck the GD mailbox option in CP Manager, and reboot CallPilot. Then check the GD mailbox to re-enable it, and reboot CallPilot again.

I did try unchecking the GD mailbox yesterday and rebooting the CallPilot. I then checked the memory and the messages were still there. I did try to gain access to the mailbox afterwards but the results were the same. I will try the procedure you gave and see if it works tonight.
Thanks

I tried the procedure....no luck.
I'm backing up the system and restoring, anyone know how to delete messages from the backup. I think I will have the same issue after I do a restore if I don't clear the messages.

I think you're right, the restore will put the messages back in. I consider this problem you're having a design bug.
It should be fairly easy to: 1. Ship CP with a default recorded name for GD or 2. Not allow GD messages unless a name was recorded first or 3. Keep the name-recording space for mailboxes as a separate area in the CP's hard drive.
I'm afraid you may have to redo the CP programming, as other ideas I'm thinking of could be as dangerous.
