I've posted this same question in the past with mixed results. Posting again to see if there is any new technology out there which allows for monitoring (not recording)? I am aware of "silent monitoring", but my understanding is this only works on inbound calls to a hunt group. Client must have the ability to monitor all calls at will.

The only way I know to connect a CAS to the system.

I know that recording units will also allow for monitoring. But I don't know of any monitor only units.

SO - Sell him the recording unit. Set it up so that it keeps the recordings for 1 day (or whatever the minimum). Tell him he never has to listen to the recordings.
Then he can monitor all he wants.

And if he keeps them longer than 1 day, tell him he can always go back and "Monitor" the calls he missed the day that he was sick.
If you are slick about it, tell him this is not a recording device, but a "monitor the call after it was made" device.

I have installed these units a few times a number of years ago. They were for monitoring and could you could also cut into the call.

I just reread your post. I dont know if this unit works on PRI. I used them on loop trunks.
Bob3470: Yes, recording analog trunks doesn't seem to be a problem. That can be done with a Melco? Digital trunks is tricky...

Vad60: Whatza CAS unit?

That is why you use ALGO(and other units). It does not matter what the trunks are. It monitors the phones not the lines. That includes calls that don't even use lines.....station to station.
OK. What's ALGO?
Thinking out loud: Does a BCM allow for call monitoring?

BCM allows for monitoring......only if call is in hunt group or call center que.

Danny.
CAS is a Call Accounting System. It's allow you to monitor a call but you can't listen and intrude into it.
I already have CallWhere installed for this client. They want to do live monitoring as well. The Algo Solution looks pretty slick. Sent a request for quote. Something tells me, though...it ain't gonna be cheap!

Thanks all.
