3.1 CP w/ enhanced CC on a MICS 7.0 w/ PRI:

In english, if you dial nothing, it transfers to the ACD group (set as Attendant).

In spanish mode, it says "exiting the system" (in Spanish).

The alt greetings are recorded. I find no reason why the Spanish side does not mirror the English side.
Here's a guess, without getting added info.
When programming the Spanish mode, maybe you pressed * to return to English mode. If so, the Spanish mode kept the * interpreting it as "Quit". Try reprogramming the Spanish mode without the * .
No, It's not that. You press 9 for Spanish and then do nothing and it drops you.
Makes no sense Jack, should be the same on both sides. Try rebooting the CP.
Make sure return to AA is turned on.
Make sure there are not any conflicting digits with 9, such as a CCR tree.
check the system properties to see if the alternate lagug is set correctly under CP config.
What I meant was maybe pressing * when you programmed the CP, not now.
I'll re-boot first.

I don't think I pressed star while programming.

There are no conflicts with 9. I checked that already.

It does make no sense...I agree.
I had them re-boot...no effect.

I'm not sure where to go with this.

BTW, Return to AA is on.

I wonder if I shoud back up, re-init and restore.

Of course that might restore the glitch as well if it is a glitch. But we've got the menus recorded by a professional voice over artist and would need to back those up seperately in order to rebuild it by hand.

I did a back up and then did a reinstall with some very minimal programming (1 greeting, 1 mbox) and it did the same thing.

After pressing 9 to enter spanish mode, then doing nothing else, it still drops the call saying "exiting the system" in spanish"

Our Vendor says that the "zero path" is set up incorrectly. I think he's FOS! In this scenerio, I had no CCR tree. Just 1 greeting. Anybody agree with this acessment?

Our next step, I think, is to replace the unit with another Billigual/Enhanced ACD/Reporting for CC/8 port/CP150 and rebuild it from the ground up.

On that note, does anyone think it's adviseable to try and load the back up from the original unit in to the replacement unit? Is it even possible?
Did you load the back up after you did the re-install? Your corruption might be just have been re-loaded.

No you can't load a back up because the key code/sys id will be different.

You'll have recover the key codes from the old CP first.
Hi guys,
Anyone remember the Touch Tone Gate parameter for Norstar voice mail? This is the never bug solved for all Norstar VM. Ok I trying to be more clearly for all.
This parameter is default NO for VM, but all VM thing different ,why ?? Exemple for all bilingual configuration(Engligh,Spanish,French …).
Welcome to AAA company for .. dial 9….so I dial 9,okay the system go in the alternate language but the system waiting for valid touch tone(s)…That’s it because you are enable to dial a valid touch tone (9 for language) YOU MUST continuing with valid touch tones !!!!!!.So “Exiting system prompt” ,the conclusion is ONLY for bilingual configurations, don’t try to replace the VM or do a install for scratch ,it’s REALITY and try to ask the solutions for Nortel tech support if someone thinking about. :toast:
Jack Mathrap got me thinking and he is right.
So I just tried it on CP100...
Here's what happens.

Do nothing and you go to the operator

Press 9 to switch to alt lanuage and then do nothing you are disconnected.

Press 9 twice once to switch to alt language and then back to prime and it still disconnects.

My theory is, once you have told the system you are dtmf capable by pressing 9 it waits for more dtmf digits, if none are provided it thinks you hung up and disconnects.

YOUR CP IS NOT DEFECTIVE.

WAY TO GO MATHRAP clap

I just learn something.
Like you often said , “Another Nortel undocumented feature(or bug !!!!)”. Like all Canadians telecoms techs, Norstar is a MUST. We install a bilingual VM (no choice !!!) for few years. Just keep going man. :thumb:
ah HA!.....Then I guess the fix is to re-record the alt prompt....and leave out "...or stay on the line to be transfered" (after the other options are voiced)- in spanish of course.

Ok, I'll have to verify this on the test bench, but it sure seems like a sound theory to me!

Oh, and Marv:
"Did you load the back up after you did the re-install? Your corruption might be just have been re-loaded."

no, I did the re-install and set up a very basic table by hand, no CCR or anything, just Gen Del and greeting 1 (bilingual, of course).

i restored the database after I found that that didn't change anything.

J

Thanks a million for your input, mathrap...sometimes you just need a fresh perspective!
