Don't get me started on the virtues of "Apple is God", I don't believe the lie.

I calibrate my monitor monthly using DATACOLOR's Spyder 5 Pro for proper color editing my photography. Windows 10 Build update 1903 installed and of course there goes my screen calibration.

Gamma ramps, color profiles, and night light settings do not apply in some cases
Microsoft has identified some scenarios where gamma ramps, color profiles and night light settings may stop working.

Microsoft has identified some scenarios in which these features may have issues or stop working, for example:
Connecting to (or disconnecting from) an external monitor, dock, or projector
Rotating the screen
Updating display drivers or making other display mode changes
Closing full screen applications
Applying custom color profiles
Running applications that rely on custom gamma ramps

It seems like all three major OS providers have been having troubles getting out updates that don't fall into the fix-break category. eek

FINALLY!

Microsoft's latest update fixed their programming error, or at least another part of it. Now I can start editing photos again

That last update messed up my computer. I can no longer use several programs including Excel, Word and my printer control panel won't work either. I wish someone would make a OS that works right and didn't need to fix it every week.

I saw this video that really explains why Microsoft is having such and issue with software development

Watch it on YouTube

Under Satya Nadella, Microsoft has shifted focus from Windows to Azure. Given that Satya's field of expertise is cloud computing, this change of direction isn't surprising. Windows has been decentralized as development is now split between multiple groups.

Outside of the recent issue with Windows Defender, I haven't had any major problems with 5 Microsoft Surface devices and an old Dell Inspiron laptop.

I, myself, prefer Windows devices over Apple & Android.

Microsoft Defender...known as Windows Defender before Windows 10 November 2019 Update

Instead of ms office try Libreoffice.
It is free and fully compatible with ms office files.

LibreOffice and OpenOffice are not fully compatible, as MS macro's don't fully work in either.

I agree. Microsoft macros are an issue with Libre/Open Office.

Also there are things you can do in Excel that can't be done in in libre office, without using a database program as well.

Thanks Ruben I'll give it a try if there is an Apple version. When Widows 10 came out I got rid of all my PCs and switched to Apple..

I don't use Windows as I don't want the rest of the world looking at my computer. Thats why it's called Windows everyone can see through it.

You are correct macros need to be edited to work again in libreoffice
