My friend sent me this picture from his camera phone. A friend of his bought a house and the system is in it, but there are no phones.
He might have me take it out and I wanted to see what it is worth.

It looks like a Partner ACS (308 configuration)with a backup/restore PCMCIA, 400 expansion module (4 lines 0 extensions) and a 2 module carrier. Because of the cables that drop down in front of the processor, I can't tell if there is a Partner Voice Messaging PCMCIA card to the left of the backup/restore card..

Total capacity would be 7 lines x 8 extensions.

Not a bad little system. Might be worth keeping and training on.

Good point NIN.
Is the system plugged into AC power Jeff?

I noticed how Jeff said that there were no phones, so I would guess that the system is simply powered down.

The way the station cables are pluged into the 8 station ports may indicate bad station ports. Extensions 12,13,14 don't appear to have anything pluged in. Skipped on purpose or bad?
Definitely Partner equipment. If you do not need a phone system, there are plenty of dealers who sell used equipment. Just contact one on google and they will tell you how to determine
what processor it is and if they are interested in purchasing it. If you place an ad on craigslist for your city, you will get a response.

Oh yeah, that's exactly what I would recommend. Those are the people who are killing this business dude. Around here we recommend that customers contact a reputable local dealer who will install, service and stand behind the product, not some shlock on the internet looking to make a quick buck. Craigs list? puke You have to be friggin' kidding.

Yeah, I guess I could always sell it on ebay smile
That would probably be you best bet Jeff.
Sell it to someone on ebay, then they will come here to find out why it doesn't work. smile
laugh out loud, how do you know it does not work?

Sell it on craigslist you do not have to pay a fee like ebay.
I'm going to be taking a look at the system this weekend when I go home for Spring Break. I will post back my findings. I will likely end up with it, he wants me to get the wiring straightened up, apparently the previous owner ran a business out of the house.

Jeff, this would be a good opportunity for you to learn the Partner system. I'm sure we could fix you up with a couple of 18Ds and the manual.

I was thinking the same thing...I would not mind learning that system. I have space on my wall smile
So the guy changed his mind, of course he wants to get something for nothing. Instead of letting me have the system he wants to sell it on Craigslist. That way he can pay an electrician to fix his mysterious tripping breaker...
Gotta love it!
so how does his selling it rather than giving it to you translate to his "getting something for nothing "?
