I normally program SV8100s, DSX 40,80, and 160. I had a recent tech call on a Comdial Impression phone system using 2022s phones. One is stuck in Headset enabled and for the life of me I can not get it out of that mode? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

jwooten is on the money, i forget the code off hand but if you google dsu manual it is in there. youll need a blank button to pgm on, if all of the buttons are lines you'll have to remove one of the lines from the button to do so.

Jwooten and dtcd21...finally got back out to the site today and as per the manual I did the follwing
ITCM > **1 > program key > 94 > TC. However, after pressing the program key it says line on the screen and when I press 94 for headset it only shows the 4. Any suggestions?

Why transfer/Conf at the end? This is from the manual....

1. Press INTERCOM at the user’s telephone.
2. Dial * *1.
3. Select button to be programmed.
—Press A1–A14, B1–B10.
4. Dial 94.
5. Press SPEAKER to end.

good catch RBF, but when I press the button to be programmed it is showing line on the display screen and when I press 94 only the 4 shows up on the display...does that make sense how I explained it?

ok I understand all that except for the 5th step. It is station number 11 that is having the issue. Not sure what to type where it states to dial 10-57 or C10-C57. Hopefully you will have a question on a SV8100 one day and I can repay the favor LOL

Step 5. Dial 11. laugh

I'll take you up on the NEC help one day.

RBF, I have one more quick question. I noticed in your response that you said press A1-A14,B1-B10. On the 2022s it has 16 buttons on the right side. 2 rows of 8 keys. Which ones are A1-14 and B1-10?

I little to much info don't you think? If you have a manual look it up. It is all in there. This is technician programming you are asking about. Your profile has you listed as a MCSE. That is a computer certification. Why not call your local Comdial dealer and have him help you. If not, what you need is in the manual. If you can not figure it out call somebody who you can pay and they will help you.

Lighten up fellas...how to program the headset button is in the user guide. This is a normal function done all the time by the customers.

We all just try to protect our industry from the unknowing and uncaring- sometimes it just comes across a little rough to folks that don't know us well.

I must not have the same manual that you guys have. I will continue my search and download one.

Sorry to come off rough. Headset stuff is fine if Dave says it is. Thanks for the kind words. Did not mean to rub you the wrong way Shane just protecting our way of life.

no problem Jim...we can do a virtual handshake and call it peace. Just frustrating, I can turn kartwheels with NEC just don't like the Comdials because it is new to me.

Got you. I have no problem helping other telephone techs. I just resent when the computer IT guys come on here and want free advice on how to basically replace our job. Helping a feloow telephone technician navigate thru a Comdial system, no problem. Helping a IT guy navigate thru a Comdial system no problem, on a billable service call. The same way I would never go on a IT forum and expect an IT professional to walk me thru setting up an exchange server. Just the way I look at it I guess. Good luck out there.
