Yesterday, I was reviewing technical specs for a Viking Electronics product on their web site. They referenced a part from Radio Shack, so I Googled it to get those details. Ever since then, I am being absolutely flooded with Radio Shack ads at nearly every web site I visit. I use Firefox as my browser and rarely use Google at all, but it seems as if I'm now doomed to Radio Shack ads. Am I stuck or is there something that I can do?
Thats because you've been frickin'
SCROOGLED
Yep, that was the first thing that I thought. I just hadn't ever paid it any attention before now.
You think Microsft is not going to do the same?
Eds pop ups had nothing to do with email being scanned it was the result of a Google search

Exactly, you've still been
SCROOGLED!
Try installing BetterPrivacy addon for Firefox to block flash-based cookies as well as other cookies.
I think with Google snooping and intruding more and more into all our lives they are getting a bit too big for their britches. Time for the government to knock them down a few pegs.

I use this, too. It's awesome.
Firefox's Ghostery addon is also a good complement to Adblock.
