Hello All,

I am a newbie here so please forgive my dumbness...

I have a Strata DK16 with a separate Amanda voice mail system. Both of these are very old but working.

Recently the DK lost its memory and now needs to be reprogrammed, I have everything working except the voice mail does not answer the incoming lines directly. I can call into the vm extension and it does pick up but the vm won't pick up by itself.

Is this a program features somewhere? I have the entire programming manual for the DK but I can't figure out what to program.

I think the way it used to work was it rang the phones for several rings and then went to VM. Same if you transferred to an extension.

Any help, ideas, pointers would be great!

Thanks,
Phil
Program 81-Immediate Ring, 82-12 sec. delay ring, 83-24 sec. delay ring.
Make sure all of the phones are CFNA to voice mail and the extension ID codes are set.
Thanks Voyager, being a newbie could you tell me how to CFNA to voicemail? My VM extension is 18/19/20/21...

Thanks
#603, 18, SD, 12, redial
Ok MacOSX, what is SD? I assume you mean dial #603 from the intercom then 18 then SD??? then 12 then press redial? I am on my way to the office now, hope I can get this thing working today...
speed dial =SD , you will also need to press the intercom button then #603 , actually if I remember correctly the DK 16 doesn't use # , so if #603 doesn't work , try Intercom 603.
Ok, now I got most everything working but...

I can't get the Amanda VM to set the MSG waiting lights and also can't get the VM to pass the call to the end user.

If I am in the VM menu and I press the ext # it does not ring through even though it says it is...

Any ideas??
Check program 31 , LED's 15-20 need to be on for the voicemail ports , and program 35 LED 4 on for digital stations
Thanks, just checked and still no good even though all the above is set properly.

I cannot get the VM to ring any of the extensions or MSG light...

Seems like I am not allowed to dial out on the VM ports???
You said that you replaced the DK. Do you still have a dtmf reciever on the replacement DK?
Yes, I never replaced the whole unit just the power supply which in turn lost all the system programming...

I tried programming the VM ports (8,9,10,11) to auto pickup of the intercom still no help...
In prog 03, for slot 00 do you have 92?
No I have a 91...
It needs to be a 92. Then recycle the power to the DK after the change.
Could you please tell me what that does? The only difference in the manual is control w/k4rcu whatever that means???
it recognizes the DTMF card, which is a necessity for VM operation.
Aha... Maybe that is the whole problem... Will let you know if that's it when I go back to the office.

Now the client wants me to take 2 lines and have separate voicemail for those 2 lines... UGH!
Time for an upgrade. I think they're trying to make a ford escort perform like a ferrari. If they are all digital phones, then they can upgrade to a CIX40 for a reasonable price and get a new VM system.
