I have a extra DK424 that im now going to use, new pdku2 and new amphenol cable. I terminated the new cable on a 66 block, plug it in to the pdku and try any port on the 66 block I get a clicking sound. So my question is the Amphenol connector a special pin out? Thanks

Are you testing the port by connecting a digital phone set?

As far as I know, the Toshiba phone systems use standard 25 pair wiring on all Amphenol connectors.

Does the 424 system know the pdku-2 is there .

Did you add it in sys programming and recycle the system ?

Lol, yes theres a digital phone connected to it and the most important thing I forgot to mention is that I tested the Amphenol cable on a working DK424 and PDKU. All I got was the clicking also. Thats why I was wondering if Toshiba maybe had them pinned out different. Im sorry my first post was a little misleading. Thanks for your responses.

So assuming you punched the 25 pair down correctly and you attach 1 pair to the first pair on the block [white/blue]

Put that pair on a jack red/green and plug in a phone you get a click.

Is the phone good ? have you plugged it into a known good jack?

When you asked is the toshiba pinned out different what did you mean /different from what ?

So it would be 1st pair skip a pair next
skip a pair using a 66 block and 25 pair cable

There are 3 headed cables made by express
that use 3 amp s on a 25 pair and they go straight down.

Theres a manual page above.

Is the amphenol seated firmly and locked down with the clip?

buy a two pin adapter to easily plug onto the 66 block.
and be sure to leave it hooked up long enough for the lcd to gain resolution. unless the plug is mispunched there should be 8 stations on it somewhere.

We have had the symtoms you describe before and it has been the PDKU that was bad especially from lightning damage, just a thought.

Thanks for all your replys. I had someone else test the cable before and I retested the cable myself yesterday and it works. So my problem is somewhere in the DK 424.

Again is the slot programmed for the Pdku-2

and not in a slot that exceeds the software capability of the system.

Swap the pdku-2 with a known good one.

Thanks again for replying. The PDKU is good and I tried it in all slots. Not sure which slots are programed for what since I cant get into it. Thanks

Did you get a manual and is port 005 good?

Post back the config of the system card by card starting on the left.

Ok, how can I tell if a slot is programed for a PDKU, when I cant get port 5 (or any port) to work. I tried all slots with a working PDKU. Just tried the Processor (RCTU BA/BB)in another DK 424 and it did the same thing so it looks like its the processor. Thanks for your replys.

Edit:I am a noop so not sure what you mean by config on system board. Also I dont have the processor in front of me but I looked at another BA/BB we have and the left processor card had a piggy back card on top of it and the one im having problems with doesnt.

Again
1- Are you going to get a manual ??

2- Are you going to supply a list of the cards and slots that there in.
Posted By: tmeier Re: Dk 424 Amphenol cables - 09/03/05 05:52 PM
I have a manual. And the only cards in is the BA then BB then Pdku.
Posted By: KENB Re: Dk 424 Amphenol cables - 09/03/05 06:47 PM
OK
1- take the processor cards out and remove the battery strap on the card that has the
rca jack on it and the silver battery about the size of a quarter then put it back on
in the on position.

2- put the processor back in rca one on left
also there are 2 ribbon cables between the cards right ?

3- you dont need the piggy back card like the other on ,it a dtmf and not needed now

4- put the pdku-2 in slot s11 should be next one after processor and plug in your cable.

5- go to the power supply and there is a small white jumper labeled dksu-b or dksue
there should be a jumper plugged in with a green looped wire.this is critical to make this a ksu not an expansion cabinet.

6- now there a 3 white needle fuses in the power supply labeled 1-2-3 push each one in
no muscling required.

7- go to your installation book and follow the directions for a new installation.

8-you should get phones for 000-007
005 is your prog port

let me know

Thankyou, Ill let you know on tuesday after I try it out. Thanks again
Posted By: tmeier Re: Dk 424 Amphenol cables - 09/06/05 03:45 PM
Ok, did all that and pushed in the little white things and yes the ribbon cables are there. I moved the battery to off and moved it back to on after about 5 minutes. It still makes the clicking sound and no display on phone. Thanks

What about the small jumper on the power supply with the loop wire in dksub /dksue
is that there

Is there a heart beat on the processor ?

Yes that wire is there(tried it without it and the power supply wont even light up. There is a light on the card in the RCTU slot if thats the heartbeat your talking about. Thanks again

There's the RCTUBA and RCTUBB that are connected together via a ribbon cable. Is that what you have?
Posted By: KENB Re: Dk 424 Amphenol cables - 09/07/05 05:41 PM

Thanks again for your help, Do you know of anyone that repairs processors? Thanks
Posted By: KENB Re: Dk 424 Amphenol cables - 09/12/05 08:58 AM
