Hi All, I've been working on Toshibas for about 20 years, now starting to do CTXs. My question is can I use WinAdmin 1.10 still on the Actu2? I'm not able to connect, message says "Failed to connect...check the following items..."

1) I've got a good crossover, link and ping
2) My IP is set to 192.168.255.251
3) Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
4) I'm not using the modem, just crossover cable
5) ATCU2 IP is 192.168.254.253
6) I'm using the default community password

I've checked everything 3 times over on laptop, ctx using button prog., read manuals over, etc.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks, John

I figured it out. The book calls for the client laptop ip to be 192.168.255.251, should be 192.168.254.251

Also found numerous other typos in the installation section, i.e. directory "nhs" should read "ctx" for the web management page.

Part my fault for not knowing ip well enough yet.

remember community name is typed as "communityName", with a capital N and no spaces.
You cant just change your laptop IP address without doing a release and renew, or the easy way is to right click on the ip connection and select disable, the right click and select enable. the default IP of the CTX is 192.168.254.253, as long as your laptop is in the same subnet,, your in... buy that I mean 192.168.254.1-----192.168.254.252,,, pick a number any number.
You should also be using the latest and greatest version of win admin, what is your CTX software version.???

It's working OK, I'm on release 2.10 on the ATCU2. But I'm still struggling with the programming. The questions are:

1. I set the MW to VM port 1 (ext 208) in prog 200, but my MW rings VM port 4 (ext 211) the one that set the MW. How is the message center port established?

2. What is the best method for delayed pick up on voice mail? or rather can delayed ringing be set fo SL ports. Do I use program 319 (Intercept Treatment) say to a phantom DN and then call forward to VM?

3. There is now a transfer tone when VM transfers (blind) to an extension. Sounds like a low flute for a short burst. Can this be shut off?

I have to admit I kind of liked the 424 software better. Even the phone Op software is now missing this the old version had like getting a second com line by pressing the Dn button again without having to release first.
Maybe it just takes getting used to.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

First make your voice mail ports in a hunt group and give it a pilot number. Then go into multi calling group and set a group and give that a pilot number enter the phones you want to ring immediate in the member area of that MCG. Then enter your pilot number of your hunt group as the delay you want. you can adjust the time of delay in system timer. Go into DIT of trunks and enter the pilot number of the MCG for Day 1.

Thanks for the reply and tips. I follow everything except which program controls multi calling groups. Excuse my ignorance, I'm trying to learn.

You said the CTX is R2.21. BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER, Get the latest version of WinAdmin. You cannot program Multiple call groups (or any of the newer features) with WinAdmin 1.1. Look for Version 2.22 A20.

Please feel welcome to call me if you have any more questions. Check out the ad at the top of this page.

DO NOT USE MCG unless you want single line ports to ring. It will cause nothing but grief.

1.your main problem is you dont have any SMDI, you have not setup the---I/O ports for vmail if you are using SMDI.

If you are using dtmf intergration is your vmail set up the same way?
You should be using SMDI all you need is a serial port on the BSIS--- it is way faster and smarter.
2.vmail id for 208 is 208 --- vmail for that extension is your pilot number for your vmail hunt group.
3. delay ring- the best way is create a phantom extension- it doesn't even have to ring or appear on a useable key.
I usually add a DADM to extension 200 and put it on key 20-- say phantom 600
-assighn ownership and then a SCF group for forwarding to vmail FWD/B/NA
-DIT the lines to that phantom
- don't forget you Vmail ID for the routing to mbx 990 or 991
4. trf tone burst-- in vmail programming in
mbx#200 in the extension field put in 200H.
this will release the call from vmail.

You cannot use version 1.10 winadmin on CTX software version 2.21
you need win admin version 222A20

This is why you cannot see MCG- Multi call Groups

I've always used inband although SMDI is the right answer. I'm under a deadline to complete this job. I have the voice mail delay working with a kludge by using an unsed DN as the destination pilot and then using the CFNA timer to delay pick up time. I'm using button programming until I get the new Admin version. My BIG problem now is in prog 200: MW to VM port not functioning. I have pilot 599 for my distributed hunt group. I put 599 in prog 200 field 22 (MW to VM). When VM sends MW from DN 211, MW goes back to 211 not 599. How can I get this right? If I can fix this at least I can get the cut started and then fine tune the rest. Thanks for helping, John

I lot of techs miss this step but it is important for mw to work properly. In program 200 for each vm port, make sure that you put 599 in the 'Display DN' field. Also, in the hunt group assignment for vm you do the same thing.
