I have a Partner II with R4.0.1 software and Merlin messaging R 1.0. system also has an expansion cabinet R3.1. MM is in the 2nd cabinet.
VM ports are 34 -39 and the system lost power.
I reprogrammed #505 to hunt gp 7 for exts 34-39. #506 to immediate, #507 to always and #206 to group 7 for lines 1 to 6 to 1- assigned. If I call the MM direct thru either 777 or by ext# 34 it answers. the problem is that the AA does not answer on an incoming call. is there additional programming that I need to assign for the partner II?.
thanks
Tj

1-is it really a 6 port mail ?

2- did you shut it off left to right and back on right to left ?

3- If it lost its memory the battery in processor is bad ,so depending on your style ,you need battery backup, refurb processor
replace processor with acs and eliminate second cabinet
or open processor and solder in new battery

Good luck

Could you clarify which voicemail is being used. The Merlin Messaging won't work with a Partner system.

I'm pretty certain it is a MM. I will plug in my laptop and verify. the system was up and running until it lost power. Customer has been notified that a small UPS will take care of most power failures. I thnk it is something in the Partner II programming that I need to add.

As far as I know the MM won't even fit in a partner carrier. Plug your laptop into what?

I think you need to figure out what the VM ports are for whatever the messaging system is and program #505 accordingly. Unless you have a Partner Messaging with a 6 port license it ain't right.

It's absolutly not Merlin Messaging - it won't even fit in the carrier.

That being said, I would check the port license card, make sure it is 6 ports for your described setup.

And, you don't say for sure, the Partner Messaging is in the 1st slot of the expansion carrier? If so, the ports do start at Ext. 34.

If the voicemail has a 6 port license and is inserted into one of the carriers, it is going to be an Avaya Partner Messaging.

As Hal and TTT have suggested, verify which ports are assigned to the voicemail group. This might be a good time to suggest to the customer that they upgrade to a Partner ACS.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this issue. there was nothing wrong with the programming. I just had to read the manual. Avaya's definition of immediate is 2 rings before the AA picks up unlike the nortel and other manufacturers that I have worked with.
so the system was working as designed and yes it was a 6 port VM.
thanks for the input.
