Can not get old messages from voice mail.. the message I recieve when I hit "0" is " Invalid Subscriber Extension Number" No problem in getting new messages.

Sounds like the system needs a restart. Pull the plug and power it down- but before you do that you need to be sure it won't lose programming when it loses power. The older Partner Plus and Partner II relies on an internal battery to tide it over power interruptions, else it defaults to factory settings. So if you have one of these and you know power has gone out with no problems to your system go ahead, otherwise keep your fingers crossed.

If you have an ACS there are a couple of user replaceable AAA batteries and if they are low extensions 10 and 11 are alerted with a message on their displays. So unless you see this message you are safe, however now might be a good time to change them BEFORE you power it down.

I have unplugged the unit and I still get "Invalid Subscriber Ext. number.. Thank you

Ok, now we are going to dig a little deeper. First you are going to have to tell us what Partner system you have. Try pressing Feature 59 on any display phone first. Hopefully it's an ACS and you can tell us what it says.

Then we will need to know what VM system you have. You get some of that information when you go to retreive your messages- "Welcome to Partner_______. Please enter extension and pound sign."

A better way would be to log on as the administrator. If you have to press 9 (do you?) instead press 7 and tell us what it says.

Hmmm, good point. Maybe the old message IS "Invalid Subscriber Extension Number". I would think it would be obvious by the different voices.

Now that you got me thinking about it I wonder if "Invalid Subscriber Extension Number" is even a Partner prompt.

Good Morning,
I tried everything that was suggested and also pressed several numbers when I received "Invalid Subscriber Extension Number"... now we are able to get all the old messages on eveyone's extension except for one which is saying "Invalid Subscriber Extenion Number" That is the one that messed up the system and wondering if that is not a recording from someone who called here. Old messages are working and would like to thank you sooo much for all the great advice and assitance. Our phone system is Partner VS and when I did the Feature 59 the display was " ACS R1.1.1 col

The older revision Partner Mail VS modules supported a limited number of users. I'm wondering if you've exceeded the limit for your system.
