You know, in the old days, you had two CO swithes... 5ESS and DMS100 for the most part. If your switch type didn't match on the Legend, then the D-channel wouldn't work.
Now, with all these software type switches doing emulations, its kind of hit and miss. I have one now where I know the Legend is set to 5ESS which means the protocol is set to Custom. I think the far end is set to NI2. It works for the most part, but the big issue is that when someone hangs up in voice mail, we don't see a disconnect, so it records a couple of minutes of busy tone....
Anyone else having this issue?

I know the Legend/Magix does not like NI2.

I was never able to make a legend work with a Santera softswitch at the other end ( not sure what your provider has). (Mine)USLec said it was Custom but as soon as the call was set up it would drop the D so as far as I am concerned a Soft switch is guaranteed to be hit or miss.
On that install is the only time I ever used the Monitor function in SPM

Make sure LS Disconnect is set to Yes. If Protocols don't match you supposed to experience dropping calls.

NI2 will NOT work with LEGEND/MAGIX.
There are a lot of them out there that can't do NI1 OR CUSTOM.
Just the other day I had a tech at XO tell us that their newest load of software is one of them.
Thus, the only way they can make it work is by not using PRI, just basic TIE LINE SERVICE.
RULE NUMBER 2, "THINKIN' WON'T GET IT, YOU GOTTA KNOW!" RULE NUMBER 3, if you need TIER-3 SUPPORT on a LEGEND or MAGIX, go to http://home.comcast.net/~merlinman -

LS Disconnect applies to analog lines, not PRI.

dropping calls is not the issue, so maybe it isn't a protocol issue. Maybe the softswitch is not sending the right disconnect to the Magix to let it know the far party hung up?
