Bought a merlin 410 unit recently. Having a problem making outbound calls. Works fine sometimes, other times when dialing, the dial tone continues for several numbers. Hit recall, and sometimes it will work again. Don't know if the problem is in the control unit or something else. Any help appreciated.

Check the switch to see if you're putting out TT. If you are it could be the KSU is flakey and you could try putting it on DP to get you by until you can find one. You could also slide the switch back and forth a few times to see if that will help. Click equipment at the top of the page and Sundance may be able to help you out, if you need a KSU.

One other thing you might want to try is to see if there is a feature package module in it. If so, power the system down, pull the module(s) out and see if it behaves then when you power it back up. I've seen defective feature package 1's cause strange behavior.

Is it isolated to a particular line? If so, flip flop the lines and see where the trouble stays or moves to pinpoint the Merlin or the phone line.

Does it on both lines. Have splitter so old phones still work. Can hooked up this way be a problem? Had no trouble the first week I had it, then this started.
