Is anyone using Cisco Broadworks SIP lines with the OfficeServ? Our local cable provider has just switched over to that platform and doesn't have Samsung listed as a compatible PBX.

Samsung is broadworks certified since 4.70 software i think it was.

I didn't know (or forgot) that cisco owns beadworks.

Where would we find something official that says that?

Good question. Down here it was on the release notes for whatever version of software it was done in. I remember as our incumbent telco wouldn't talk to us about certification on their platform until we had that.

Are they actually giving you a sip account or are they just giving you the trunks out of a ata/spa?

Personally we used Megapath and have seen it's pretty much the easiest and best sip solution around. They got bought out by Fusion/Broadvox. Have no complaints with them.

Looking at the Broadsoft trunking scheme, it seems they will have a SBC on site, so the OS7xxx will probably register to it, then go from there.

Yup, They do go with an SBC. Have you had much experience with those?

I have not had any experience with those. When I was researching a ton on SIP and figuring out the ins and outs of it, I remember reading about them. From my understanding, the PBX would use the SBC as the sip server and then the SBC connects to the ISP and does all the routing and ports and stuff. So basically it acts as the server and router for your PBX.
