Hello all,
Trying to modify a STSe with a inSkin HDD Voicemail board to get notification that there was a message left on a Virtual Mailbox. Without a phone the customer has to do a regular check of the Mailbox to see if there are any messages.
Is there a way to trigger an actual extension to show that a message is waiting on the Virtual Mailbox??
I see there is a way to call a phone number or a pager but that is not practical in this application.
Thanks for any input.

Hi cswroe,
I "assume" you are suggesting using a button to access the VM of the Virtual Extension??
I understand the XXX as a mailbox number but the 460- has me stumped. I am looking at WINDBA_STSE and the choices for a button are alpha phrases such as MAILBOX_VM4 wher I can add the value of 460 but how would I add a Mail Box of 106??
Or am I addiing 460+106= 566??
Please advise.
Thanks,
Les

Not sure how to do it in WINDBA, I rarely ever used it except for LCR when I did Vodavi....
While at the phone you wish to have the button programmed, press the on/off button, press speed twice, press the button to program (it will flash), dial 4-6-0-1-0-6 to program the button for voicemail 106. It will be a direct access button and will light up when 106 has a message. If you use hyperterminal, there are flash commands to do it, but easier if you or the end user just program the button.

Ok!! I got it.
I always use WINDBA since trying to remember all the various keystrokes drive me nuts.
This should do the job nicely. I just have to decide which current buttons they don't need anymore and change it.
Thanks for the assist!!

Hi cswroe,
Ok, so I set up the buttons but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not quite the same procedure as you described.
Your keystrokes were listed as follows: ON/OFF ......... Speed .......... Speed .......... button ........ Flashing .......... 4 6 0 1 0 6 NO WORKIE!!
I am not complaining but, the keystrokes are actually as follows. Speed .......... Speed .......... button .......... Flashing .......... 4 6 0 1 0 6 .......... beep beep DONE!! Test OK!!!
The difference being the button first. Again, not complaining but wanted to make note for some others that might be reading this and finding it not to work.
Fortunately, I had a user guide to help me cheat a little with, other wise I might have had to dream up something different.
BTW after I made the change and tested I connected my Laptop and started WINDBA and did a full upload and found the button type is listed as MAILBOX_VM1 with a value of 106.
FWIW I had 5 buttons to set for this procedure. Works great!!
Thanks for the trick. Very helpful.
Have a good week.
Les
