We have been approached by a customer who has an existing Page Pac D20 in their facility that was originally used behind their Legend. They now have it connected to their IP system using an SLA of some sort. Over time, employees either removed or sabotaged many of the speakers. Now, the customer would like for us to put everything back together. What I need to know is:
1. There is a multi-zone adapter connected to the D20 amplifier. It appears to have four zones of speakers wired to it. How many total zones can this accommodate?
2. Is this a 70 volt system? The original installation has spare pairs in tie cables being used, and it appears that each zone uses two pairs. I'm not sure of this.
3. What kind of speakers should be used? Are the ones originally made for Lucent even available anymore? If so, is someone like Bogen making them?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That's exactly what I needed, Hal. Thank you very much.
So, to clarify, the zone controller allows up to eight separate zones, correct? (This is what the customer has requested).
Industry-standard speakers with line transformers can be used, correct?
With the D20 Amplicenter, we are limited to 20 watts per zone, which makes sense, but is there an 'all-call' feature where all zones are connected at once?
I'm assuming that we need to allow for about one watt per speaker unless they are tapped down to 1/4 or 1/2 watts, correct?
This manual clarifies that regular existing 24 gauge telephone and riser cables can be used. I'm not a fan of doing this with a 70 volt system, but it appears to be OK, correct? (Note: This is how the existing wiring has been done).
Lastly, do you have the documentation for the zone controller, if such exists? I'm specifically interested in the codes that are dialed to use the system once it has been accessed.

Here you go. https://comtalkinc.com/page-plus-controller-406914598-p-976.html Scroll down to the documentation PDFs The D20 is 20w total so all call (worst case) means that all speakers should total less than 20w. You can use normal 70v speakers. I agree with you about the 24ga wire. I would like to see 18ga. Maybe that's the reason for two pair per zone- are they doubled up? -Hal
