I'm trying to add a station to a multi-call group. However, I want it to ring on a specific key. What is the best way to go about this?
My initial thought was to create a Pilot DN, add that to the MCG and then assign the Pilot DN to the key. However, when I tried to add the Pilot DN via the Secondary/Phantom DN dialog, I received an alert that the Pilot DN was in use elsewhere.
I think I must have a fundamental misunderstanding about how Pilot DNs work.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

Pilot DNs are virtual extension numbers that basically redirect calls to another extensions. They are also used for ACD systems. You can't put them on buttons.
Phantom DNs are virtual extensions that live on buttons.
Also if you want Phantom DNs to ring in a MCG, you have to assign one owner to the Phantom DN. The phantom DNs only ring on the owner's phone.
