Looking at a possible new customer. A hotel with 35 guest rooms and a dozen office/misc. phones. Would do IP phones in the guest rooms because of other wiring considerations.

Is the SV9100 a good fit for hotel/motel? Is a front desk console available? Is there some integration with PC software for check-ins, etc.?

Thank you.
Jim

Yes it can. Why wouldn't you use regular SLT? You have to check PMS compatibility. Best to contact an NEC sales engineer.

SLT's would be the normal route to go. The IT guy wants to put a wireless router/access point in each room. So his thought is to use the existing data cable (once it gets terminated correctly) to get an IP connection into the room. Then connect an IP phone to his router in the appropriate VLAN port. It's going to be a major pain to rewire, so using the existing single cable to each room is the plan.

Another case of someone not thinking or listening. There is a reason we use SLT phones because they will get destroyed and stolen.

Most hotels we install down we use analog phones though one we did recently the room phone was an optional extra. If you wanted the (IP) phone you paid a bit extra and the room staff bought it up to your room, plugged it in and logged it on (hotdesk) as your room number .. Works quite well as most people never use the room phone only their cell phones..
