Thanks for those who can help me out on this issue.
I am to go to a site tomorrow to work on a problem that has been pestering the customer for sometime. I hope whoever will response tonight can help.
Here is the problem. A customer has a int 5000. All of the phones are IP based. We are using the customers network. We installed a poe switch for power for the IP Phones up front. All the front office phones are plugged into the same Customer's Cisco Switch. VPN is set up on the switch for the phones. Vmail is a Entrprise vmail. Software on the 5000 is 2.3. The system has been in for less than 6 months. We did the network wiring. Customer has two pri circuits for in/out bound calls.
One complaint is, when someone is calling into the system at anytime of the day, night evening, they will get rna. If they call back, the system may answer correctly. Vmail has 8 channels active. It's not an issue of to many calls getting the cra. Complaints of this happening at 3 am. Not much call volume at that time of the day.
The other complaint is that the customer maybe on a phone call, or the phone is idle. The screen will show a display of: Disconnect in 15 seconds" The display will count down and then reset. The customer uses the pass through of the IP phones to connect their computers to the network.
I haven't seen this problem before and the corp knowledge base indicates the problem could be a network issue. The problem seems to be on some phones up front. I didn't do the termination on the data jack at the phone ends. And I didn't get a chance to run a cable test on the connections to the phones. Some newbies from the shop did the jacks ends at the phone side.
Any suggestions on how to tackle the problems. This is one of those customers that wanted to move into the building while it was still being built to keep their operation going. They are also PITA.
Again thanks,
Mike

Oh joy - That doesn't sound like much fun - I feel the pain. Have had issues with IP Phones resetting when we had IP address conflicts on the network. IP device status is a quick and easy way to check on IP's. If you are using DHCP, that doesn't mean that someone hasn't plugged something in with a static to conflict (in our case an IP phone and the UPS shipping printer). I'd be very surprised if it is termination issue. The other issue sounds odd. Are you just using a CRA or a STAR? Time slots default? If they have been tweeked, that could be the issue, or there could be an issue with a bad voice channel. Keep us posted, and best of luck
