Hi everyone,

New to the forums and in a quandary.
What doesn't help is I'm new to Telecom, but have 8 years Database, programming, networking, and Windows AD experience.

I've been working for a small company for 5 years and we have an Inter-Tel Axxess system with the following cards:
CPC 550.2030 AF
EVMC 550.5030 AC
IPRC
LSC
T1C
DKSC16+

We have a dual T1 PRI for voice and data.

Here is the problem:

The local rep won't give me the programming software or any of the passwords.

They charge us $50 just to make a programming call to them and then $50 every 30 minutes thereafter. Generally a programming request takes 3 to 5 days for them to process, but we've had to wait up to 2 weeks to have the IPRC's IP changed... which meant our Boston office was completely cut off for that time.

Granted, I'm new to phone system programming, but my background should be sufficient that I'd know how to NOT screw anything up.

I'm mostly interested in doing simple things like changing the display names of extensions without having to spend $100 for 5 minutes of their time.

I have the password for the IPRC web console (it was the default) but not the CPC.

Anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the board.

I'm assuming that you own the system and are not leasing it. If you do indeed own the system, you're entitled to the software, manuals, and access to your system that you paid for, IMO. My personal suggestion would be to fire your rep and hire an Inter-Tel tech to come in and clear the system for you so that you can manage it yourself if that is what you choose to do. Unfortunately we can't offer passwords or back door access information to be posted in the open forums for security reasons. You may find someone on the board though that is in your area.

welcome

Are there Inter-tel technicians who are not directly associated with Inter-tel/Mitel? I have a local Inter-tel office and I have a third party Mitel contractor, but the Mitel contractor will not work on Inter-tel. I need more options than just the local Inter-tel office.

Only techs employed by a Mitel/Inter-Tel branch/dealer are certified to work on your system. Tech certification is deactivated once a tech leave's employment of said interconnect.

There are hundreds of interconnects nationwide that are NOT Inter-Tel certified that brings many years experience working on Inter-Tel products. I know this for a fact because I have worked with them for over 14 years. For qualified vendors in your area please contact me at [email protected]

I am with Macgyver on this. I've been certified on the Inter-Tel product for 20 years. IMHO if a customer wants the software to program his system then I let him do it. But, first I make a copy and archive it. Then I make them aware that if they hose it I will put it back together at their expense. I have several customers that do their own thing. You can contact Inter-Tel/Mitel direct and they will help you find a dealer that will work to your satisfaction. If I were closer I would help. For a fee Inter-Tel can and will dial into your system and open it up. I think you need a dealer to request it tho. A call to them is free. Good luck
