System Manager is an application used to maintain a large Axxess and 5000 network. If you can locate DB Studio programming software you will see a system manager option under the main system. This will give you the IP address of System Manager and hopefully you can track that system down to determine its issues. System Manager only really worked on version 8.x and up so your system is a fairly new release of software. I imagine what you need is to have the local Inter-tel dealer come out and give you some administration training and clear up your issues.

We are having the same issue - "Sys Mrg Link Error Code O"
We are using DB Studio to manage the Intertel system. A couple other posts on the forum suggested to go into system and disable system manager, but there isn't a system manager option under "system". I've looked all through the menus and don't see anything labeled system manager.
We are on 8.20 and DB studio is 1.51 This error just popped up a week or so ago out of the blue. The system has been running great for years.
Any ideas?

Click the plus on system and at the bottom you will see system manager when you click on it you will see the Ip address of the machine assigned. If you aren't needing it try 255.255.255.255 That is the default tellling the system you don't have a pc assigned as the manager. I would suspect if you ping the address in it you will time out may have been removed or IP address was changed to DHCP and lease expired Randy

There isn't any system manager under system..not sure what the deal is. I've looked all through the menus. Here is a screen grab showing what is under system. Also a link if the image upload doesn't work. Thanks for your help. Screen Grab

Weird. It should be right under Report Programming. See if you can view it using Online Monitor.
If you're open to this, you could send me a zip file of your database via private email and I'll poke around to see what I can find.

Looks like you have a restricted password that doesn't allow access to System Manager.

I suppose that is possible, but this is the only password I have. I'm not sure the dealer that initially set it up is still around.
Is there a default InterTel password or a way to reset it to a default?

Here is what I've found on this topic. There is no option under password access rights in regards to System Manager.
I'm wondering if the System Manager software was purchased/loaded when the system was installed? And if it was, was the certificate uploaded and verified? I've got a meeting on Friday with my old Inter-Tel cronies to review costs and requirements, among other things.
As for resetting the #1 Administrator password on your system, you could call the installing dealer and ask them for that info. It should be in your customer file, or more likely they use a standard password. If they use a standard password, they may not want to pass that info onto you, but you can insist on it. Even if it involves them remoting into the system or going onsite to make the change.

We finally solved this! My guy hacked into the database and found where the admin password is stored and cleared it. He then did a restore and voila! System Manager appeared! We changed the settings and the error went away!
Thanks for the help in figuring out that our password was limited access.
