First post here, glad I found you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gentlemen, and gentlelasses, I have a small issue.
As indicated by the *FEATURE 59* command:
I have a "PACS R7.0 91J" that has been touched by a couple of phone tech hacks. I got all the lines re-terminated properly and all three of my incoming lines have dial tone and can call out.
The issue is, only line 2 and line 3 will ring when called.
Line 1 does not ring when called.
If you make a call FROM line 1, you will have a dial tone, and can call out to any number.
If you make a call TO line 1, it will not ring *BUT* if you happen to pick line 1 up as you are calling it, it will pick up normally and you can talk just fine.
IT.JUST.DOESN'T.RING!!!!
Pulling my hair out.
Thanks to all!

ring is programmed on a per line basis look and be sure line one is set to ring on the extension in question.
try swapping lines one and two and see if the problem follows the line or the port

Skip, thank you!
I just swapped lines 1 & 2, the problem then occurs on line 2.
Any suggestions?

Does this indicated 100% that the wiring is incorrect?

If the problem follows the line, it could indicate a wiring issue. If you plug line #1 into a single line telephone, see if it rings.

Thanks Dexman!
By the way, I saw your page - I'm doing this for a church as well!
I'll try that now!

Ok, so I hooked up single line phone to the "test port" for Line 1
(hooking directly up to port 1 avaya gives no tone, just my observation, might be obvious to the experienced)
I received the same problem as before - the phone has dial tone, can make outgoing calls, but it still will not ring when a call is placed.
Thanks again for helping a newbie!

Clarification: The "test port" that I hooked the phone up to is fed from a phone line which runs from the "Telco box" up to the test phone jack mounted on the wall.
I traced the line 1 coming out from port 1 of the Avaya 509 to the "Telco Box" where it spliced with another line, and then from there traced THAT line up to the "test jack" which was mounted on the wall.

Hmm.... If the Telco box has jacks for testing purposes, plug the SLT into the jack for line #1 and give it another whirl. If it works, then something between the box and the Partner is as suspect as a three dollar bill.
