Type status from the port activity screen That will give you the total number of activated email gateway users. You will have to go through each mailbox 1 at a time to see which ones are activated though

There is no port activity screen on the SVMi-i How would you get to it ??

It's on the system parameters first screen. "Maximum Email Gateway Subscribers". Edit, not sure if your trying to find out how many you have currently configured or you are trying to verify it took your unlimited license.

The port activity screen on the svmi20i is accessed via telnet, like the os7030/7100/7200s

I've never used it for this. We use Hyperterm as a telnet tool. How would you access the VM ?? What do you see when connected ??

Point hyperterm to the IP of the SVMi-20i and use the default password. Then you type in VMCLI as instructed to show port activity.
