Just put in a few T28P 2 gripes right off the bat. 1) ![[Linked Image from cdn.memegenerator.net]](https://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/500x/44727877.jpg) . I started unboxing the phones. after about 8 I noticed that some of the phones I set off to the side had the Desi labels laying next to the phones. I then looked closer at the phone I was currently unboxing an noticed the plastic cover was missing. I then looked into the white bag the phone was wrapped in and found the cover stuck to the side of the bag. New mission: go through the mountain of packing material and find invisible plastic strips stuck to the inside of bags. After finding all but 1 (one of which was crumbled but fortunately, there were 2 in one bag) I then enjoyed the next half hour trying to put them back on the phones in a semi-permanent fashion. 2) There is an LED in the upper right of the phone. Through experience, I would assume this to be a message waiting indicator on every other phone I have ever seen with an LED in the upper right of the phone. Evidently it is simply a power on indicator. All in all, I like the phones, but these 2 things are such an oversight on an otherwise quality phone.

I wanted some full featured inexpensive phones for my asterisk lab at home i have 4 T26 a T20 and a t22. I have noticed an issue of sound quality on 2 of my t26 phones. They have some minor issues but in general have a nice handset feel, nice keypad feel and the BLF 2 color lights are great. I also thought the green light would be a message indicator but nope, it can be turned off in the config if you like. I have had no problem getting them to provision automatically from my asterisk, my Aastra 6757i was actually harder to get to provision automatically.

Of all the SIP phones i have tried on asterisk they are pretty much the easiest, dont rely on th ? help suggestions in the config pages though... they are in engrish, actually kind of funny the bad translations.

The Yealink T48G takes the cake as the most beautiful phone I've seen. Whether it works or not I'll find out next week.
IMO, the Grandstreams, 3CXs, and Yealinks are going to be walking all over the traditional IP PBXs in the next year. The pricing is outrageous - in a good way.
Lots of fun! Finally an IP phone just isn't a glorified digital phone with a different plug out the back.
There is actually a reason to go IP vs digital. In other words, the hassle and headaches are worth it.
Playing with a Grandstream 2160 and 2200 at home off a 6102 system - can't believe phones are actually fun again. It has been many years since I could say that.

I know what you mean, my wife was happy to see the old norstar system leave the house... but not thrilled when asterisk took its place.

We installed a few Grandstreams and now getting into the 3CX.
Both will of course talk to the Yealink G-series phones.
So far so good. Odd being able to be so extremely price competitive on jobs where the customer wants an IP system or nothing.
We still prefer hybrids in many applications.
