I'm trying to connect a paging system to a Comdial DX-80 for a customer. I'm primarily familiar with Avaya/Lucent, so I'm not sure of the Comdial. It has a paging output, and was connected directly to a Valcom 24v 5watt speaker. However, that speaker has quit working and the customer was given an old PagePac 20 and a 70v speaker from another location to use. I was asked to hook it up. Do I need a 600 ohm transformer between the Comdial's page output and the PagePac 20, or is there a more proper way of connecting it? Thanks.

You shouldn't need a matching transformer, but the modular input port on the Page Pac needs a contact closure on Black and Yellow during the page (or you can leave them shorted if you don't have a contact closure available)

Okay, thanks, that's what I was thinking but wasn't sure about it.
