What is your preferred way to toting tools around a site? Lets assume its just a regular service call and not an install. What do you normally take with you when first going inside and what container is it? Toolbelt, bucket, pouch?
I've been using a Husky brand zipper pouch for about a year on a daily basis. Tools: crimper, punchdown tool, mix of 6p4c and 8p8c, klein 10-in-1, sharpie, carpenter's pencil, micro flathead (screw terminals), can wrench, needle nose, flush cutters, electrical tape, small roll of velcro, small pill bottle with bridge clips and scotch locks, and ideal vdv tester. Add in the buttset if it's a voice issue.

Proudly serving Canada from coast to coast.
An old laptop case. One zipper compartment holds 3 rolls of cross-connect, the other holds my butt-set and toner. Outside flap compartment holds punch tools, a few other assorted tools, and a few jacks and line cords. It's rare that the big tool bag comes out.
Still wear the old bell system style belt and tool pouch, but usually hang it somewhere if I'm going to be in one place for awhile. Just never liked the idea of having to carry a pouch or case.
Same as Bill. Thought about a bag something like Jeff's about a month ago when it was 1/2 price but decided against it. I'm used to reaching for what I want or need without having to "Look".

A friend of mine does building maintenance and has a bag similar to mine but made by Klein. It is a bit taller and has a rubber bottom so it will actually stay in place where you set it down, which is nice. It does not have the screwdriver loops like mine does, though. I have always admired the fiberboard cases like Sam mentions, one day I will catch one on eBay!
I quit coming home with a sore back when I changed to wearing only my punch tool and scissors along with a pocket screwdriver. I carry everything else in a bag that I can set down. For larger projects, I have a larger tool bag that has wheels.
I used one of those small tool pouches today when running wire. Was nice to have a place to hold my sharpie, tape, snips, etc. I forget where I got it but it has a loop to go on your belt, or you can put it in your back pocket.
