I have a weird incoming ringing problem with the SBX. If you answer the call from any SBX DKT during the ring generator cycle, you hear the ring generator before you get speech cut through. The customer never had an issue with the Partner system we replaced, nor does it occur when answering the call using a butt set at the demark. We defaulted the database (the old corrupted database standby tech support normally comes up with), no change. We brought another SBX cabinet, and it does the same thing with that cabinet. Any ideas?

This has happened to me with XTS's before. It is a CO problem...usually pots lines coming from a provider's channel bank. The channel bank is very slow to recognize the line going "off hook" so it sends one more burst of 90 volt ringing. It is really ugly but the caller on the other end is not aware of it. This ring burst is more pronounced if the call is answerd on the speaker before the handset is picked up.
The Partner does not have the same kind of end to end connection that newer systems have. It is one of those systems that has a lag when answering a call....you have to say "hello" twice so to speak before the caller is connected. This lag also masks the ring burst.

Thanks for the insight, Derrick. Have you had any luck in getting Telco to fix this issue?

Nope, we changed from pots lines to a PRI some time later and that took care of it. You can't get them to fix it. If it started to happen after you changed the phone system quess what the Telco is going to tell you.
