Supposedly the X-16 phone remembers it's name and extension for two minutes. While I was mucking with the wall phone mounting problem, I must have had the phone unplugged for at least ten minutes and when I plugged it back in the name and extension were still there.
I wasn't upset at that but it seems the memory retention is far longer that the manual specifies.

Good point...my demo units do that...sometimes for days....

Yes it is Bunny. I know it's at least 48 hours as I've had them box up and broke them back out to check something out. Now, before I box them I clear the CID history and reset the phone so it's back to 301. You wouldn't have this problem in a customer environment.
