Does anyone have a suggestion as to what would keep the * commands from working with Flexicall? They're in the Flexicall numbering plan? Flexicall is working fine other wise.

What is "Flexicall"? Is that a renamed version of Centrex services by a local service provider?

Flexicall links another number to an extension. Usually, it is a call phone, where when the extension rings, it also rings the cell phone. The Tadiran moniters the circuit and you can activate several * commands to transfer a call, divert a call to voicemail, etc.

Whoops, that should be cell phone, not call phone. You know what they say never buy a car made on a Friday, and it is the 13th.

Ed, It allows the for a call that is ringing on your desk phone to ring another location outside or inside the system at the same time and show the caller ID of the person calling you... If it is setup correctly, it can be a viable solution in many aspects of business. It will also allow you to have the PBX's features while on the call outside the system such as a home phone other business phone, or cell phone. Call Reroute to Vmail, Transfer, Conference all by dialing a few codes while on the call. Tadiran has installed this feature on the backplane of the system instead of having to buy a card or external box to do this. This also uses DTMF receivers while on the call so, that has to be taken in consideration when figuring the amount of Flexicall traffic along with regular usage.

TTT,
We're only running about 13 flexsets, 2 faxes, and a couple SLT for modem access. Yoni suggested DTMF overload, but I can't imagine it as a problem. It also appears to be intermittant, it was working this morning. Have you experienced any problems like this?

Sometimes it's simply the DTMF being sent from the phone or provider not being picked up properly.

What system are you running? How many DTMF receivers do you have?

Do you have a URC card or just DRCF?

Eight should be more than enough with that configuration, I would think. Again, it could simply be the system not recognizing the star key on that phones touch tone. Change the code to something else and see what happens.

Excuse me there Coral, I've neglected to say that it is sporatic. Is there a setting for how long the DTMF has to be to be determined valid. I'm told some cell phones are having trouble with our voicemail also, WiCMC. Is this something inherent with cell phones?

DTMF receivers are utilized during the whole conversation that is connected through Flexicall. Bad connections with Cell phones could cause issues.. I can recreate a "lost" "*" about 3 times out of 10. I would say if the customer is having an issue with the "*" button, he can at least keep pressing it and the corresponding number to make sure the system hears the tones..
