Thanks in advance!
I have a Sprint Protégé Phone System installed here in the office.
Everything was working fine. Recently, some phone will rang one time for approximately one second. And, when you picked up the phone, no one is there. This Calling-and-Hang-Up issue seems like someone is playing a prank with us. However, I doubt this is a prank. Therefore, I am asking for advice as to what kind of issue that would've caused this.
Thanks! Ben

Protege Systems send a single ring cadence to all phones when the KSU has been power recycled. When the KSU is running, it will send the same single ring to any phone or phones that have re-connected to the KSU.
Check that you don't have any unusual AC power issues where the KSU is mounted. Unusual things are known to happen with power to phone systems.
You also may have a short or shorts anywhere in the extension cable back to the main cabinet.
Both situations above will cause "ghost" rings that frustrate the end-user. If both of these items come up clean, then I suggest you look at the service provider before assuming you have a problem with a digital station card.

I do not see anything unsual with the KSU's AC power.
This ghost ring can happen as most as 2 to 3 times a day. Or,as little as 1 time in a week.
Thanks OCI for replying. I will check the extension cable. I will post back with the result.

1. Have you tried swapping phones?
2. Is it more than one phone?
3. If multiple phones. are those phones common to one station card?
4. If common to one card, have you tried swapping that station card with a like card, to see if the problem follows the card?
5. What, if anything, shows up on the LCD when the "phantom" ringing occurs?
