Does anybody have an opinion/recommendation for impedance meters for line operated paging systems. Nothing quite like trying to T/S paging systems without one! John C. (Not Garand)

I used the Gold Line zm1p out at JFK airport. Put in 4-500 zones and ...maybe 5,000 speakers. Worked like a charm. Figures out your wattage and has a built in tone generator. Very nice.
When I started in the industry (PA system on Noah's Ark) we had a Wheatstone Bridge that we used. No comparison. This is much, much better.
Wait, maybe we used the Wheatstone on OSP and something else on PA? In any event the Gold Line is an excellent product.

Man, what a difference 20 years makes! They were a LOT cheaper in the '80s. Then again, a dollar bought a lot more! And was a lot harder to get!! John C. (Not Garand)

Mine is still one of them there analog devices with a null meter and a couple of dials. You have to remember not to put it on live circuits and I think it only goes up to 100 or 150 Amps.
I use it about once a year.
I think I paid about $150 bux for it in 1990's money. A TOA ZM-104 isn't much more than that today.

Yup. Wheatstone will very accurately measure resistance not impedance. Before the TDR it was used to help locate cable faults.
