I bought this used comdial with 16 co and extension. Got it all hooked up has intercom etc working but could not attach pc based voice mail system.

Not sure how no wiring or details pictures any help, manuals or suggestions is appreciated.

1. What kind of Voice Mail??

2. Did you get ATI-Ds with that used system??

3. Did it have the voice mail hooked up to it before it was de-installed??

Its a PC based has an rs232 attachement, a modem or voice processing card with 2 ports. on PC it says its VM 8.1 rev 3.

I don't know what is ATI-D

Yes it was hooked up before it was de instlled.

I tried tody plug in an anolog line to modem and diled direct it goes to voicemail. On comdial impact phone when I press vmail it gives no such station.

I gues some guidence on how to connect and where to connect what is helpful.

1. Kind of voice mail? Who made it? What is the manufacturer? Does it say KeyVoice on it? Is it an analog or a digital VM? This question has a relationship for number 2

2. If this is an analog VM--then you need analog ports. Those are where the ATI-Ds come in.

You need an installation manual for the phone sysgtem and an installation manual for the voice mail and perhaps a technician to help you out. See the links above for MANUALS and INSTALLERS.

If this is the same VM that was hooked up---you need to get into telephone system programming to see how it's programmed....or to see if it's gone back to default in which case ....you will need a manual or a tech to be there and help out. This is not a plug and play system---especially if it has gone back to default.

Is your friend in a hurry to get this running? If he is, he'll have to bite the bullet and get a Comdial tech out there.
