I have an AD-40 (Repartee 7.47) at a hotel. It hung on reboot following a power outage. I went onsite, rebooted it, watched it come up to the banner screen. Tested good.
Next day, manager onsite says that it's not answering. I gave instructions for a warm reboot. Called again that evening, still not working. Went onsite, did a warm reboot, system came up to banner screen, all is well.
This morning, another call. Same thing. Had manager reboot, and I've called it every 15-20 minutes since... Seems to be up and running.
It never hangs when I reboot it.
When it hangs, it's after downloading the dialogic boards, and before the "Fixpak 5.1" message. There will be a black DOS-type screen over a blue OS/2 desktop. The message on-screen tells me that the current drive is C:.
Any thoughts?

That's a pretty old version. When was the last time the hard drive was replaced? Do a "chkdsk /f" command and see if it finds any errors and might be able correct them. You may need to boot from the maintenance floppies to run the command. PM me if you need help offline.

Actually, it seems okay now. Hasn't glitched again. The last reboot seems to have set it right.
Probably original HDD.
System does a CHKDSK on startup. No bad sectors or lost chains.

The system does a chkdsk on startup but not with the /f switch which tries to repair any errors it finds. If it's the original HDD, I would replace it.
