Hi there
my customer changed the password & does'nt remember what it is. does anyone know if there is a backdoor pswd to reset, without erasing the vm & setting up from scratch?

Call Amanda tech support. Have a modem ready for them to dial in and reset the password.

That will be $75 or a token if you have token credits.
Awful easy to try the street address or the last so many digits of the phone number.
I had an end user go in with some PC diagnostic tool that would let him look at every file, got it in a couple minutes.

For [email protected] ONLY: Go onsite and stop the Amanda Program. From a DOS prompt... In the Amanda directory there should be a configuration file. Read it carefully. That's as much of a clue as I can give you.
