I HAVE AN AMANDA SYSTEM /DOS CONNECTED TO A TOSHIBA 424.THE SYSTEM IS DOWN COMPLETELY.I HAVE A NEW SYSTEM.I HAVE A BACKUP DISK I NEED TIPS TO GET THE SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING ASAP.BY THE WAY IT IS AN AMANDA VOICEMAILGROUP.DOS

Well first, is the new system set for Toshiba? You have to look on the screen and pick the Toshiba you have. The code for a DK16 would not be the same as for a 424 or for a Pansonic for that matter.
Other than connecting the cords that is the first thing you do.
You would create mailboxes that match the extensions and the default mailbox passcode is the same as the extension.
You would program greetings in 990 and 991. 990 is usually, "You have reached the offices of XYZ Company."
The 991 greeting immediately plays after 991 and is all your instructions. "If you know your party's extension dial it now, ......."
All the Toshiba buttons for day/night and such will remain intact because they were not in the vm. All the forwarding will be intact, they were in the Toshiba.
You pretty much have to set up the switch type as 424 and create a mailbox to clone, then use the copy function to clone it.
