We have a Key Voice Office-Lite that the power supply went shot....After replacing the power supply we're getting an error message on boot-up of incorrect CMOS time...When we go into SETUP it asks for a password....I've never had to have a password to get into CMOS setup before....Any suggestions...

You should be able to clear the CMOS. We've removed the on board battery on some. Not sure if you can do that on this one. Does the thing boot up ok except for the time?

just remove the CMOS battery. It will remove the password. Then login and make the necessary CMOS adjustments.

Chris I have had that problem with some of your voicemails in the past and I believe your IT people for the state have been putting passwords on your systems. Rod

LOL @ Markk yep it is hunting season  Thanks for helping out everyone! yep remove the cmos battery, problem is you will default the cmos. You may have to go back through and make some changes for the power saver mode and maybe com port adjustments. You will also want to set the parallel port to PPP. If you run into any issues, let me know I will try and help you out.

I removed the battery and I still get prompted for a password when I enter setup....Rod, I don't think our IT people would have put a password on a "lite"....Too much work for them to connect a monitor and keyboard to the unit....maybe if it was a Windows 2000 or XP I would suspect them tampering with it but I don't think so in this case....You guys installed this particular unit several years ago....You all never put a password to get to "setup"?

Some motherboards require you to move a jumper to default the CMOS. If you don't have the manual for the MB, send me an email with the numbers on the motherboard and I'll see if I can find the procedure for you.

Oh, something else. When you pull the battery from the MB, leave it out for a few minutes before replacing it and attempting to get into the CMOS setup. The caps on the mb have to discharge. Just taking the battery out and then sticking it right back in might not allow the CMOS to clear. Try that as well.

We never put passwords on the cmos, too many techs having to cover so much area that we never know who will be where.
