Anybody using this combo? If so, a quick question: do your Users find transfers to voicemail simple?

Our secretaries monitor numerous phones, each of which will have a primary, direct-dial number, and a secondary, virtual number.

Here's how they transfer an external call to VM:

Press Transfer, Press Message (or dial 12345), when attendant answers, press 2, then enter the 5 digit extension, and hang up immediately.

Here's how they transfer an internal call to VM:

Press Transfer, Press Message (or dial 12345), when attendant answers, press #, press 2, then enter the 5 digit extension, and hang up immediately.

Surely there's a better way. ?? Anybody?

I had this system setup when I worked at my last company.

The way you described was basically NEC's way to do it since they didn't want to have to make a bunch of Virtual numbers for direct transfer to voicemail. The UM8500 still needs a lot of work.

You should be able to make virtual numbers and either add digits or strip digits to get the caller in the correct mailbox. Good Luck, we are all counting on you!
