We just installed DSX-160 with some stations restricted to using verified account codes for long distance dialing. User can dial 9 for outside line, enter code + #, then dial long distance. However, when placing a local call, the user must dial 9 + # (no code) in order to make call. Customer doesn't like this step. His previous system allowed local calls, but recognized 1 + dialing to initiate code input.
Is there any way to restrict a user for LD using account codes, but eliminate the step of pressing # for local calls?

I believe you have to set up your Home NPA and your HNPA exceptions in the Caller ID section or 3712, 3713, and 3714 (Be sure you initialize the tables first). That should eliminate that step.
