We're on the Elite IPKII system with Dterm 80 handsets with expansion extensions on wireless handsets. All the extensions work properly with the proper greeting, except extension 112, the one dedicated to the receptionist. This is the same extension that callers are defaulted to from the initial call if they do not choose an extension. If the extension is available, it rings and it answers fine. If it's busy or it is left unanswered it eventually plays a message 'Please enter your security code.' This is the same message you get when you try to check your messages. But callers hear it if the line is busy or left unanswered. We've checked that the greeting is recorded and active. We've entered 'Talk 7441333 Hangup' to try and make sure the extension is setup to fwd to v/m. The security code message still plays.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Dave

From memory the only time I have seen this (once) is when somehow a call was forwarded to a VMS port rather than the VMS Dept pilot number or something like that.. I know it drove me nuts trying to find it..

How was the system setup for opening and transaction boxes? Is 112 the owner of the 2. How have the ports been setup on answering calls?

Make some test calls and monitor the ports, this will give you a clue when it says enter the security code when it should be playing the mailbox greeting.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have any equipment to monitor the ports. I was hoping someone would say, dial this code when you get into the system administrator menu. Then change a setting and voila, the 'Please enter security code' message disappears and the v/m works properly.
I do appreciate any more ideas you may have.

Have seen this only once before.
Had to delete that mailbox and re-add them. Fixed the problem.

Log on as the system manager, Did your NEC vendor train you on how to do this? If not, call them back. It is standard procedure.

Thank you. We're using the InMail system and the instructions I have are for the EliteMail, so the softkey options do not match. I've requested them now. If you have a link to them, I'd really appreciate that.
Sincerely, Dave

Does anyone know where I can get a complete System Administrator Guide for the InMail system for the IPK II? All I've received from the local TelCo is the 'Quick Reference' which only tells you how to delete the contents of mailboxes, not how to setup a mailbox on an extension. Greatly appreciated.
