I am trying to change the voicemail message on my office system, and I'd like to put in a message in English with options, "press 1 for Spanish," "press 2 for Somali." I know how to change the basic message, but I'm not sure how to add in these other "boxes".

How do I create the Spanish and Somali recordings and how do I access them in the future?

The first and most important question is what voicemail and phone system are you working with?

The second is, if you have to get into programming are you equipped and trained to do so?

I'm using an NEC phone using EliteMail voicemail. If I have to get into programming, I am definitely not trained to do so, but I do have the administrator's phone password, if that helps.

You need to call in a certified tech. What you need to change is more involved then administrator's role.

BUT, to hold down cost' have all the scripts and 'jumps' worked out and written down. The tech may tear it apart or determine the AA/VM can't do what you are trying to accomplish. Thing is, it's better (read 'Cheaper') to have it all worked out, rather than have the tech stand around, waiting for people to work out what it is they are trying to do, and develope scripts. He's paid by the hour, and the time doesn't stop while you are trying to develope a script. Remember, techs are usually good, but they usually CAN'T read your mind! smile John C. (Not Garand)
