Hey, There is a NEC Dterm 80 near me. It is plugged in and receives calls fine. The red indicator lights come on. The phone is showing nothing in display - not extension number, not menu opts, etc. Any ideas?

What system is the phone connected to?

Could be a couple of things....
1. While the set is idle, try using the up/down arrow keys in the bottom right of the set to adjust the contrast of the display. Users sometimes push these with the phone idle thinking they are adjusting the ringing volume.
2. If the LCD is still blank you could check to see if the ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the main board in the phone has come un-plugged, but this would require taking the phone apart. Not a big deal, six or seven screws. BUT first you could call your vendor to see if the set is still under warranty. Most sets come with at least a 2 year warranty (1yr parts and labor + 1 year parts only). Taking the set apart yourself will VOID your warranty.... but if it's not under warranty, it's already broken so what's the harm...?
