A bit ago, I had an install that instead of using an Intramail, the customer wanted the NVM-Dfx. I installed it and got it working, until I discovered a BIG problem.
When the record button was pressed, the whole system reset.
I spoke to the engineers at NEC, apparently this bug had gone unnoticed. This was bad since such a problem could lose us the sale (thankfully, the customer was understanding).
They got to work on a fix (Dave Williams was able to replicate the problem on a test system).
NEC has released an update that fixes this problem. Yet another reason I appreciate them!

How long did this problem go on before they sent you the fix?
We had issues with Exchange integration on a UM8500 and fax issues with SIP. 9 months it took to get the thing working. And to top it off it was not what we paid for. They had to install Analog boards in the system to get the faxing to work. Multiple lock ups, you name it, it happened.

How long did this problem go on before they sent you the fix? Less than a month. Well, there's a reason I try to avoid putting a Fax machine on a SIP port.

It was built in faxing messaging. The ports in the UM8500 were supposed to be all SIP. If you pay something, you should get what you pay for. right?

I'm going to add my two cents worth here. I am a vendor for NEC, xxx and zzz and I can honestly say that the NEC folks are the best - heads and shoulders above the rest!

One small problem though...it looks like it BREAKS time server synchronization. Ah well, not a big problem (if it's on the network, I can remote it.)

I understand that they are going to dump IPK 2.
Why can't they leave well enough alone? Grrrr.

Why can't they leave well enough alone? Grrrr. Because the IPK is a dinosaur who's time has come.
